Building an inclusive society starts with awareness, understanding, and respect for the rights and needs of persons with disabilities. OKU Cardholders’ Rights and Etiquette equips participants with the knowledge and practical skills needed to understand OKU cardholders’ rights and provide respectful, confident, and inclusive service.
The programme introduces participants to the OKU card, including what it is, its purpose, and how it is obtained. Participants will also explore the rights and entitlements of persons with disabilities under the Persons with Disabilities Act 2008, helping them develop greater awareness of the protections and support available to OKU cardholders.
Through discussions, case studies, and practical workplace scenarios, participants will learn about priority services and facilities available to persons with disabilities. The programme also highlights appropriate etiquette and practical approaches to ensure that assistance is provided respectfully while maintaining the individual’s dignity, independence, and choice.
Participants will engage with practical do’s and don’ts when serving OKU cardholders, developing greater confidence in communicating and responding appropriately in everyday customer service and workplace situations.
Designed for professionals across various sectors, this workshop blends engaging discussions, experiential learning, and real-world applications to help organisations provide more accessible, respectful, and inclusive services to persons with disabilities.
